Midale students win two awards

Grade 12 art students Ariel Laidlaw and Deborah Nikkel display examples of their work, which is on display from now until the end of June in the Credit Union Art Gallery.

Rate hikes are a 'necessary evil'

The Allie Griffin Art Gallery will host an art exhibit by women who are formerly of Weyburn or who had a strong association with the city in their youth, and it will run from June 1 to 25, inclusive.

The final event in the "Make Weyburn Riderville" campaign will be held downtown on Thursday, June 3, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the intersection of Souris Avenue and Third Street.

A former Fillmore teacher and singer, Chris Henderson, is one of several artists who have advanced to the finals in Saskatchewans Next Big Thing, a contest hosted by radio station Big Dog 92.7FM.
