It's a big year for our provincial parks. Our government recently announced that July 10th to 16th is Saskatchewan Parks Week and this year marks the 80th Anniversary of our provincial parks system.

I started doing a weekly column in 1985. Remember 1985? Yeah, me neither. For me, it was a blur of diapers and pureed squash and walking squalling babies around the house at 4AM to try to get them to sleep.

I love to laugh, don't you? A popular magazine tells us laughter is the best medicine, and in many ways it's true. I know people that I've never heard laughing, and that is very sad.

Saskatchewan is no longer the simple hewers of wood and haulers of water. We are starting to make some inroads in our resource-based economy in terms of attracting some head office honchos to our communities.

It can be lonely for Saskatchewan journalists who live in the middle. To the right is the conservative business crowd which is often annoyed by what we write.
