Hearts in the Park honours victims, promotes collaboration

Community members gathered May 14 for Hearts in the Park, an event honouring victims and survivors of violence.

REGINA — Dozens gathered in Victoria Park on May 14 to honour victims and survivors of violence during the seventh annual Hearts in the Park event.

Hosted by the Circle Project, the Regina Police Service and Family Service Regina, the event coincides with Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, observed this year from May 11 to 17.

The 2025 theme, “Putting Our Hearts on the Line – The Power of Collaboration,” emphasized the importance of working together to break the cycle of violence in the community.

Attendees were invited to write the names of loved ones affected by violence on paper hearts and hang them around the park as a public tribute.

The event also featured speakers from local service organizations and advocacy groups, offering information on how to identify signs of violence and provide support to those in need.
