Permits up, values down to start 2011

Building permits in 2011 aren't off to quite the torrid pace seen in 2010, just yet. In January, eight permits were issued for a total of $1,774,000, compared to six issued for $7,686,000 in January 2010.

Winners announced in Jackfish Fish ice fishing derby

It was a bunch of hardy souls who participated in the 2011 Jackfish Lake Ice Fishing Derby. The 15th annual event took place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb.
