PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Police in Prince Albert, Sask, are reporting a harrowing Christmas Day story involving three armed robberies, two suspect chases and the shooting of a taxi driver.

An injured woman was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. 

Two semis jackknifed on the road. An SUV struck one of the semis, while other vehicles left the roadway while trying to avoid them.

A 45-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges relating to aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and breaching court-ordered conditions.

The victim was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital for further medical care.

According to Saskatchewan RCMP, since the beginning of 2014, they have investigated seven homicides in Onion Lake RCMP’s detachment area.
