Fraud charges, thefts and public disturbances kept Estevan police busy over the weekend, with multiple arrests and investigations underway.

The victim’s name will not be released at the request of the family.

Bodycam footage revealed his attempt to escape — ramming an SUV into cruisers and a prolonged struggle involving strikes, a Taser, and a strike with the butt of a service revolver. 

Shortly after 7 a.m. on April 24, police were called to the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D СÀ¶ÊÓƵ for a report of an injured person.

At around 6:30 p.m. on April 24, police were called to a mall in the 3300 block of 8th Street East for a report of bear spray СÀ¶ÊÓƵ discharged inside one of the stores within.

The first-quarter statistics include the months of January, February, and March and is measured and compared to previous years to identify anomalies or trends.

On March 12 at approximately 2 a.m., Wynyard RCMP officers arrested an adult male during a traffic stop on B Avenue in Wynyard in relation to an ongoing investigation.
