CANORA - During the Canora Composite School graduation exercises on June 26, the academic achievements of graduates were celebrated with the awarding of over 20 different scholarships.
An new award, from the Good Spirit School Division, the Director’s Seal, was won by Lila Wilson.
According to information from GSSD, “It recognizes exceptional academic achievement (95 per cent-plus average), dedication, and active engagement in the school community. Recipients have demonstrated strong character, responsibility, and commitment. The Director’s Seal celebrates students who embody GSSD’s mission, vision, and values, making their schools and communities proud)."
Wilson also received the Royal Canadian Legion scholarship, the Canora RCMP scholarship, the Kondratoff Persick Law Practice scholarship (new this year), the Gateway Co-op scholarship, and the Anuik Graduation scholarship.
Matthew Makowsky was awarded the Peter Negraeff Memorial scholarship (new this year) and the CIBC scholarship.
Ava Love received the Canora Hospital Auxiliary scholarship, the Town of Canora scholarship, the Crossroads Credit Union scholarship and the Saskatchewan PSI Master Beta Sigma Phi Group scholarship.
The Canora Ag Society scholarship went to Noah Prychak, who also received the Community Insurance scholarship, the Growing Forward scholarship and the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League scholarship.
The Aspen Paramedic Services scholarship was won by Briel Beblow.
Lucien Carlson received the Nutrien Ag Solutions scholarship and the Richardson Pioneer scholarship.
Connor Kraynick was the winner of the Warren Davis scholarship.
The winner of the Canora Fire & Rescue scholarship was Makayla Heshka.
