The Paddy Wagon relocates in Moose Jaw, emphasizing family-friendly dining

The Paddy Wagon, a Regina-based eatery renowned for its smash burgers, has officially reopened at a new location in Moose Jaw, now sharing a building with Taco Time at 204 Manitoba Street West

MOOSE JAW — The Paddy Wagon, a Regina-based eatery renowned for its smash burgers, has officially reopened at a new location in Moose Jaw, now sharing a building with Taco Time at 204 Manitoba Street West.

Owner Kyle Forrest confirmed the move, emphasizing the restaurant’s commitment to a family-oriented atmosphere in line with its mission statement.

“We just spent the last month setting this place up, and my team worked night and day to build the vibe and get our kitchen ready,” Forrest said. “We just wanted to bring that family vibe into our restaurant here in Moose Jaw — the same that we have at the Co-operators Centre in Regina.”

The decision to relocate from the previous venue, , aligns with The Paddy Wagon’s vision of creating a family-friendly environment, according to Forrest.

“We wanted our own family vibe because kids weren’t allowed at the Cornerstone (Bar),” Forrest explained. “At Paddy Wagon, we (have) that family-style vibe where we want kids to be involved.”

The new location opened its doors on May 1, with a soft launch followed by an official opening the next day. Forrest noted the enthusiastic community response: “Even the first day we opened — over these first two days — I’ve seen probably about 25 (customers) through the door already. It is just super exciting to me.”

Prior to opening, he said curious visitors were a frequent sight at the door throughout the renovation process once the exterior sign came up.

The Paddy Wagon operates independently within the shared building, with both it and Taco Time maintaining separate operations.

An official grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, with details to be announced on The Paddy Wagon’s social media platforms.

“We’re going to have a second grand opening here. We’re just finishing up the details for that,” Forrest said.

Looking ahead, The Paddy Wagon aims to give back to the community as part of its vision.

“In the future, we’re definitely looking to give back and set up some stuff with different charities around the community,” Forrest shared, noting that he plans to finalize the details of a pending campaign against hunger — but for now, his focus is still on getting the new location operational.

A supportive community has been a highlight for Forrest as he continues to operate in Moose Jaw.

“The people of Moose Jaw have been so supportive,” he said. “All the social media presence that they’ve been giving us, and all the positive comments — I can’t thank the (residents) of Moose Jaw enough. Even just our first couple of days in business here have been fantastic.”

The Paddy Wagon restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and plans are underway to offer delivery through SkipTheDishes and potentially through their own delivery driver — a position that is now accepting applications.
