WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn is calling on residents to have their say in shaping the future of the downtown core. An open house event will be held May 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Hall, offering the public a first look at draft conceptual plans for downtown revitalization.
The drop-in session will allow community members to review proposed streetscape designs, speak with project leaders, and provide feedback through a public survey. The input gathered will help finalize the Downtown Revitalization Master Plan, a long-term vision aimed at boosting economic activity and enhancing the area’s vibrancy.
“This is an exciting stage of the project," said City of Weyburn Director of Engineering Renee Cugnet. "It’s a chance to share the concept shaped by last year’s stakeholder input and show the community what’s 小蓝视频 proposed as a long-term plan for future downtown revitalization."
The Downtown Revitalization Master Plan aims to boost economic growth and enhance the vibrancy of the area. Proposed improvements include wider sidewalks, green spaces, public art installations, curb extensions, safer pedestrian pathways, and dedicated areas for events and sidewalk patios.
The city, in collaboration with Crosby Hanna & Associates, 1080 Architecture, and Associated Engineering, is now finalizing the plan. The finalized streetscape designs and report are anticipated by the end of the month, with city approval to follow.
Partners in the project include Weyburn Regional Economic Development and the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.
The survey and draft conceptual plan will be available in-person during the open house and online following the event at weyburn.ca/engage.
