Kipling's proposed splash park will be located near the swimming pool.

KIPLING — During their regular council meeting, Kipling town council decided on a location for a future Splash Park, beside the pool where the sand volleyball courts are located.

“Their thoughts where there’s a bathroom there, it’s open later hours, and then it’s not right beside the school, so school kids aren’t trying to go in it during school hours,” explained Kipling CAO Brenna Ackerman.

Planning for the splash park is beginning this year, with actual construction taking place in 2026.

Also established at the April 17 meeting was who would represent the town on the Splash Park Committee with Councillors Devin Draper and Tara Carter, plus Mayor Pat Jackson as an ex-officio on all committees. Two members of the Kipling Lions Club round out the list of committee members.

Air BnB request on hold

A request to rezone a property from residential to commercial in order to accommodate an Air BnB was tabled for the next meeting of Council.
