Individual charged for assaulting police officer, held in custody

Estevan police say the man was out on conditions for violent offences and other infractions.

ESTEVAN - A man is facing charges and is 小蓝视频 held in custody following an incident in Estevan on April 29.

According to the Estevan Police Service, members were called to a residential street for the report of two individuals fighting. Members attended and a 22-year old man was arrested for public intoxication and causing a disturbance by fighting.

While 小蓝视频 arrested, the man allegedly assaulted one of the police officers by spitting on him and has been subsequently charged. The EPS says the man has other matters before the courts on other charges, including violent offences, and he was held in custody to be brought before a judge on April 30 for a hearing to attempt to remand him into custody.

Meanwhile, the EPS received a report from a local liquor establishment that a male entered the business and asked for police to be called, because someone was following him and intended to harm him. Members attended, investigated and found no evidence of such behaviour. A short time later, the same male attended the police station, requesting assistance as he was having a panic attack. He was transported to the hospital for assessment and treatment.

The EPS received a report of a male outside a hotel yelling and acting strange. Police attended, spoke with the subject of the complaint, and directed him to return to his room and stop his behaviour. He complied, and no further reports were received.

The EPS attended a local hotel on April 28 to respond to a client refusing to leave following checkout. Through the investigation, it was determined he was on conditions of no contact with a female staying in the same room, resulting in his arrest for breaching his conditions. He was held in custody for court on April 29.

A well-小蓝视频 check was conducted on the operator of a motorhome that had been parked in a business parking lot for several days.  He was found to be safe and not in need of further assistance.

Police attended to a domestic disturbance at a residence in south-central Estevan. It was determined to be a loud verbal argument. Nothing criminal had occurred and members were able to mediate the situation.

An individual was observed shoplifting from a local grocery store. Surveillance footage of the theft has been obtained and the matter remains under investigation.

The EPS received a call about a female causing a disturbance at an east-end residence. Members attended and a 33-year-old Estevan woman was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells for the evening.

Police were called to a local motel to a report of a second female causing a disturbance. The investigation determined that she was upset with motel staff because her son had been staying there and was arrested the previous day. Members spoke with the 65-year old Regina woman and she was eventually escorted from the property.
