Regina road closures planned for July 1 due to events, water work

Road closures are planned in Regina on July 1 for special events and long-term water system work beginning on Halifax Street.

REGINA — Motorists in Regina can expect road closures on Tuesday, July 1, due to special events and planned infrastructure work.

Albert Street will be closed between 19th Avenue and Regina Avenue from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. for a special event in the area. Earlier in the day, Dewdney Avenue will also be closed for a special event between Garnet Street and Montague Street from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition, long-term utility work is set to begin on Halifax Street. Starting at 7 a.m., Halifax will be closed between 12th Avenue and 14th Avenue for up to three months while a private contractor carries out upgrades to the water system. The initial phase of the project will take place between 12th Avenue and Victoria Avenue.

The City of Regina is advising transit users to check with Regina Transit to see if their routes or bus stops are affected.

Residents are thanked for their patience and reminded to slow down in construction and detour zones.
