Regina police arrest fourth person in Aron Lunan's homicide

His body was discovered in a rural area near Grand Coulee on June 10.

REGINA – Police have now charged a fourth person with first-degree murder in the death of Aron Lunan. His body was discovered in a rural area near Grand Coulee on June 10.

On July 8, Regina Police Service say that 37-year-old Kayla Mitton was arrested. He appears in Regina Provincial Court on July 9.

On July 1, 24-year-old Britain Volk was arrested, and on July 3, Patrick Akapew and Tyler Edwards, both 38, were arrested.

All four are charged with first-degree murder.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit initially led the investigation, treating the death as suspicious before RPS confirmed it is a homicide.

Aron’s father, Allan Lunan, described him as a devoted musician and outdoorsman, Aron was known for his love of playing guitar, drums, and singing, said Allan. He also shared a passion for dirt biking with his father and brother. 

Aron had been working with a counsellor in Regina trying to straighten out his life before his death, said Allan.
