James Sheldon Carson: April 6, 1941 – June 29, 2025

Sheldon was born to James (Jim) Albert Carson and Ila Marie Carson (nee Martinson) at the Beechy hospital. His sister Diane was born the following year. They were raised on their parents’ homestead near Demaine, Saskatchewan.

Sheldon attended Demaine school from grades 1 to 12 with two short breaks. They spent one year at Hazleton Country School when their mom was called upon to be a Study Supervisor and another half a year in grade 12 when he attended Beechy High.

After graduation he started farming with his dad until his dad’s passing in 1972. Sheldon and his mother continued farming together until he married Sharon Baerg (nee Vestre) of Dalmeny in 1984. This marriage came with a bonus: three children – Warren, Connie, and Larry, whom he immediately took as his responsibility and loved as his own.

Known as an inventor and fixer of many things, the neighbours would stop by with projects he would work on, fixable or not. He enjoyed СÀ¶ÊÓƵ a ham radio operator (VE5AES) with his two good friends Tenno and Maurice and was an active member of the Rock Point Amateur Radio Club.

After a fall that broke his hip in 2022, he was moved into the Lucky Lake Primary Care Clinic. Due to his increased dementia this became his new home until his passing on June 29th, 2025.

Sheldon is lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon Carson; his three children, Warren (Liesbeth) Baerg, Seely, Manoah, Tirzah, and Jente, Connie (Hank) Whitelock, Adaya, Sophia, and Liam, Larry (Janelle) Baerg, Ryder and Tatum; his sister Diane (John) Zielinski; and his two nephews Kirby (Penny) Zielinski and Clarke (Tabitha) Zielinski and their families. He was predeceased by his father James Carson and his mother Ila Carson.
