PRINCE ALBERT - Prince Albert Police Service members were busy over the weekend responding to more than 400 calls for service from May 2 to May 4.
Here is an overview of some of the incidents over the weekend.
At approximately 9:15 a.m. on May 2, police were called to a business in the 400 block of 小蓝视频 Industrial Drive for a report of a break and enter/theft.
Arriving officers learned five of the company trucks had been stolen, four of which had ATVs in the box of the truck.
Through investigation, members of the Prince Albert Police Service Proactive Policing Unit (PPU) were able to track four of the vehicles to a location north of Prince Albert. PPU members worked with Prince Albert RCMP officers and were able to locate four of the stolen trucks. One of the trucks had been burnt and at this time, none of the ATVs were located. One of the trucks, a grey GMC Sierra 2500 with Saskatchewan licence plate 883MDS, is still outstanding as stolen. The four ATVs are a 2021 Can-Am Out Max 650, a 2022 Can-Am Out Max XT650, a 2023 Can-Am Max XT850, and a 2024 Can-Am Max XT700.
Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
In a separate incident, on May 2 at approximately 3:40 p.m. police were dispatched to the 400 block of 15th Street West for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated that someone in a vehicle pointed a firearm at another driver during a road-rage incident.
Responding officers located the suspect vehicle in the 400 block of 32nd Street West and eventually activated their vehicles' emergency equipment, attempting a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle did not stop. Officers continued to follow the vehicle as it travelled east on 32nd Street West before it fled at a high rate of speed.
Officers began to pursue the vehicle before disengaging shortly after to ensure public safety.
The next day, while on routine patrol, officers located the suspect vehicle parked outside a business in the 200 block of 35th Street West. The vehicle was unoccupied and was seized for the investigation.
Police are continuing to investigate.
Also on May 2 at approximately 7:25 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of 12th Street West for a weapons complaint. Initial information was that a male had been stabbed.
While responding, further updates advised that the suspect fled westbound. Upon arrival, officers located a male with injuries consistent with a stabbing; he was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance to receive further medical treatment.
Later that night, police received a report of the suspect showing up to a residence in the 1100 block of 13th Street West. Officers attended and located the suspect; she was arrested without further incident.
The suspect and victim were known to one another.
As a result, a 24-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault.
Then, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on May 4, police were called to a business in the 3600 block of 2nd Avenue West for a report of a male covered in blood.
Upon arrival, Parkland Ambulance was already on scene treating the victim for injuries consistent with a stabbing; he was then transported to hospital for further treatment. The victim did not co-operate with police.
Police canvassed the area surrounding the initial call for service and were able to determine a location where it is believed the incident may have occurred.
Police are continuing to investigate.
In a separate incident, on May 4 at approximately 4 p.m., police were called to the 3200 block of 2nd Avenue West for a weapons call. Initial information stated a female walked into the business with a firearm and threatened someone. Arriving officers quickly located a female matching the suspect description, and she was arrested without further incident. Police searched the woman’s bag and located a sawed-off shotgun.
As a result, the 32-year-old woman has been charged with numerous firearms offences.
A number of these incidents are still under police investigation.
