KINDERSLEY — Kindersley father Miguel Malana discovered a $100,000 win on Extra while at home holding his baby!
“I was sitting with the baby and checked my ticket on the [Lotto Spot] app,” he said. “It came up as $100,000 and I screamed, ‘Oh, is this for real?’”
“I scanned the ticket over 10 times,” he laughed. “My wife came running to ask what is wrong with me — then I showed her the win, and she smiled and said, ‘Unbelievable!’”
The baby likely did not understand what was happening with all the shouting, but the little one will definitely benefit from the windfall, along with his brother.
“I want to save for the futures of our two boys,” Malana smiled. “I’m also looking at putting up a new fence!”
“I’m so happy and very grateful to win,” he continued. “I never thought it would happen to me!”
Malana purchased his winning Lotto Max and Extra ticket from Midtown Foods at 128 1 St. W in Kindersley. He won his prize by matching the last 6 digits of the Extra number drawn on April 11: 4840886.
