HUMBOLDT — The City of Humboldt is inviting interested community members to an open house to discuss a new community facility.
Michael Ulriksen, director of leisure services, said the meeting is for anyone interested in having input into a new community facility that supports arts, sports and wellness.
“Now, it’s time to take the next step. This open house is a community-wide call to action, an opportunity to come together, share ideas, and most importantly, identify individuals ready to champion the creation of a new community facility,” the city said in a media release.
“To bring together people from across the region who are passionate about improving how we deliver arts, sport and wellness in our communities and to form a diverse, regional steering committee that will lead the way in turning this long-standing vision into reality,” the city added.
“Artists, athletes, coaches, instructors, wellness advocates, community organizers or simply someone who wants to see our community thrive, your voice is needed.”
Ulriksen said anyone can be a part of the conversation or the movement — no formal commitment is required to attend.
If individuals have questions, they can contact Ulriksen at 306-682-2597 or [email protected].
The open house will be on Tuesday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Humboldt Uniplex meeting room.
