A 911 call leads RCMP members to duffle bag with firearm

The weapon was seized for public safety and an investigation is underway.

Cut Knife Report- June 30- July 7

The Cut Knife RCMP received 78 calls for service between June 30 to July 7. These files included a wide range of incidents such as well-小蓝视频 check, reports of traffic offences, mischiefs, assaults, break and enter, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Acts, missing person, trafficking drugs, sexual assault, suspicious person, theft, Liquor Act, animal calls, assisting other agencies, uttering threats, 911 Act and Firearms Act.

Notable files include:

On June 30, members responded to a vehicle collision involving a moose in the RM of Hillsdale. Emergency services attended, but the driver had left the scene. The registered owner was notified and the vehicle was safely removed the following day.

On July 5, a white Dodge Ram was found abandoned in a ditch west of Neilburg. Fire services also attended. No individuals were located and the vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen days earlier.

On July 5, RCMP responded to a report of a firearm 小蓝视频 pointed at a complainant. The suspect had left before police arrived. Witness statements suggested no firearm was actually involved. Patrols and a drone search were conducted.

Ongoing investigation: A 911 call led members to a duffle bag containing a .22 semi-automatic firearm. The weapon was seized for public safety and the investigation continues.

Forty traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings, roadside suspensions, traffic collisions and impaired driving offences. Members responded to six alarms and four Mental Health Act calls.

Cut Knife RCMP members were out and about this week, not just keeping the peace—but making a splash (literally) and serving more than just justice. Members joined the Canada Day celebrations in Cut Knife, marching in the parade, braving the dunk tank and even helping serve supper to the community members. Community policing never tasted so good!!

Members attended a bunch hosted by Nehiyaw Wicihitowin on Poundmaker Cree Nation on July 2. RCMP also attended the lunch and information session put on by Cenovus at Poundmaker Cree Nation.

Unity Report – July 1 - 7

RCMP received a complaint of an individual harming an animal. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members received a report of theft of fuel from a local gas station. The subject of complaint returned to pay for the fuel. No charges were laid.

Police received a report of cows near the railway tracks in a rural area by Senlac. Members attended but the animals were gone on arrival.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a mental health concern.

RCMP conducted a well-小蓝视频 check at the request of a family member.

Police received a report of a deceased antelope on Highway 31 near Salvador. Members attended and removed the animal from the roadway.

Members are investigating a complaint of fraud.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Unity Health Centre for assessment.

Members conducted a well-小蓝视频 check at the request of a family member.

There were also three traffic complaints and three false alarms.

Wilkie Report

RCMP issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

Police received a complaint of fraud, but it was unfounded.

Members received a complaint of a break and enter at a private property. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of an intoxicated individual attempting to gain access to a residence.  The subject of complaint was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the hospital for assessment.

RCMP received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle. Members contacted the registered owner who agreed to have the vehicle moved.

There were also two traffic complaints and one false alarm.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. This matter is still under investigation.

Members conducted a well-小蓝视频 check at the request of a family member.

Police received a complaint of an individual tampering with a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.

There was also one false alarm and two false 911 calls.
