CANORA — An arrest has been made in connection to a suspicious package that caused three blocks of Canora’s downtown to be evacuated.
A male youth was arrested on May 28, the same day the suspicious package was found, said Saskatchewan RCMP. A knife was seized during his arrest.
The youth, who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with mischief and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The Canora RCMP, with assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Explosive Disposal Unit, determined there was no explosive material or device within the package.
